Schramsberg Vineyards
Schramsberg Vineyards enlisted Paul Kelley Architecture to design and implement its multiphase, multibuilding project, which included renovation, reconstruction and new buildings. Kelley’s master site plan included an expanded tasting room/visitors’ center, new finishing/riddling building, expanded sparkling-wine caves, new winery/caves for still-wine production, and the conversion of existing historic buildings for future event and tasting areas. The master plan also included site infrastructure improvements, fire protection, roadway widening and highway improvements. Once the winery-use permit was successfully obtained, Kelley began reconstructing the beautiful Victorian verandah of the site’s National Register Jacob Schram House — which earned a Napa County Landmarks Award of Merit — followed by the construction of the finishing building.
