Coombsville View Home
The new owners of this Napa Valley agrarian residence fell in love with the one-acre property because of its bucolic setting and amazing hillside and vineyard views. Originally brought in to conceive a remodel of the original 1970s faux-Spanish-style home, Paul Kelley soon realized it made more sense to start from scratch. This allowed the owners to get the perfect home they’d envisioned. Design of the new home centered around featuring the views looking up the Napa Valley, along with a request for volume and natural daylight. A dedication to symmetry carried the centrally framed views all the way through the house, from the expansive rear deck to the front walkway approach. During construction, the property came harrowingly close to the 2017 Atlas Peak Fire; fortunately, the surrounding area was spared. For seamless access, Kelley employed Universal Design principles throughout the home, as the owners plan to age in place in their dream retirement home, which will be bustling with grandchildren for years to come.
