Napa Victorian Farmhouse Remodel
Walking along a creek in a quiet part of town, the clients fell in love with this historic Victorian farmhouse. Looking to settle into their “forever home,” they were presented with a house that was split into a closed-off residence downstairs with a separate apartment upstairs. Paul Kelley set about uniting the two units into one cohesive home, as well as adding a basement area and rear deck. Kelley had most of the roof removed and installed a new cross gable that allowed the upper floor to be converted into a large living space with a master suite, library, guest room and bath. Downstairs was reimagined with an open concept that connected a new kitchen to the living space, while still giving it a sense of distinction from the dining and living areas. Existing period trims, casings, doors and windows were retained and blended with modern conveniences, cabinetry, tile and lighting. The owners fell in love with their remodeled farmhouse all over again.
